Food Not Bombs takes food that would otherwise have been thrown away by shops and hands it out for free on the street. It is often surrounded by other fun things like music and free shops so that it begins to take over a small section of the city for a celebration of freeness.
Food not bombs raises awearness about waste, feeds people and suggests a way that communities can work together to reduce consumption and increase enjoyment without reliance on money.
